The first cycle event this year is upon us this weekend known as the Cheshire Cat. Myself and a couple of the other lads are going down on the Saturday night and stopping over in a Travel Lodge (sharing a family room… one word.. cosy). I am looking forward to it although I do not hold my hopes up for nice weather conditions which can be demoralising on a ride.
I have decided to ride the short route (59 miles) as I don’t feel I am ready to take on the long route (98 miles) due to my lapse training (hopefully get down to business now). Although some of the team will be attempting the Long route which not only is 98 miles but takes in a 25% yes that’s right a 1 in 4 gradient hill.

I feel quite confident that I will complete the ride with little concern as long as I eat properly before the event as this is the main area I feel effects me most during longer rides. I will be taking some photos of the trip and event and will keep you updated on the success or failures of this training ride.
